Learn to watercolor loosely with a "wet in wet" technique. We will be painting birch trees with incorporation of a bird. Students will complete an 11 x 14 painting on Arches 330 gm CP artist quality paper with Daniel Smith Watercolors. The class will start with an introduction on learning wet in wet techniques and practice before the final painting is started. Instructor Darcy Brambrink is a member of the Minnesota Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society.

Watercolor and Ink Butterflies With KAty Yenter

Local artist, Katy Yenter will lead a three-hour watercolor painting workshop. A continuation of her "Color and Flow" class in March, attendees will create two, 8x10 works of art using watercolor and ink using a process that closely mirrors Katy's own. This time with a summery twist: participants will have the option to create a colorful, abstract butterfly! This beginner-friendly course will cover the following techniques:
Introduction to watercolor; using different amounts of water to control pigment and create a variety of effects
Color mixing, contrast, and color choice
Using pen to create fine details in the finished work after paint has dried
This class will be appropriate for ages 12+. Registration fee is $30, which includes materials and instructor compensation.

Join mosaic artist Laura Ruprecht from Laura Liz Mosaic Biz for an engaging workshop where you'll craft your own glass-on-glass mosaic. Participants will select a provided design and cut stained glass pieces to adhere to an 8x8 shadow box frame. Once finished, your creation will transform into a stunning miniature stained glass artwork ready to adorn your window. All materials, including a "takeout bag" of grout for finishing touches at home, will be provided. This beginner-level class welcomes participants of all skill levels and abilities.
